Who we are

Mei Makes Chinese Kitchen is a takeout and delivery kitchen serving the Spokane, Washington area. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Mei Makes Chinese Kitchen. If you have a question about anything here, the contact details are at the bottom.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to cook your food and get it to you.

When you send an order

• Your name
• Your phone number and email address
• Your delivery address, if you choose delivery
• The day and time you want your order
• What you ordered, and any notes you add, including allergies you tell us about

If you tell us about an allergy or a dietary need, we use it for one thing only, which is preparing your food safely. We do not build any kind of health record from it.

When you call or text

Mei takes the same details down by hand so she can prepare and confirm your order.

Automatically

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visited. These are used for security and to keep the site running, not to profile you.

Why we use it

• To prepare your order correctly and on the day you asked for
• To contact you with your total, a ready time, or a question about your order
• To take payment when you collect or receive your food
• To keep basic records of orders we have fulfilled

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to a marketing list because you placed an order.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not run advertising trackers or analytics by default.

When you first visit, we ask about cookies. Whichever button you choose, we save that single answer in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every page. That one item is the only thing this site stores on your device, and it stays on your device.

If we ever add analytics, it will only load for visitors who chose Accept. Visitors who chose Essential Only will not have it loaded.

You can clear that choice and be asked again at any time.

Who else handles your information

A few services help run this site. Each of them has its own privacy policy.

• Web3Forms receives what you type into the order form and passes it to us by email.
• Netlify hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above.
• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces the site uses. Loading them means your browser makes a request to Google, which can see your IP address.

None of these are given your information for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Order emails are kept for as long as we need them for our records and for tax purposes, and are deleted when they are no longer needed. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host. If you would like your order details deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.

• Ask us what information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• Ask us to delete your order details
• Ask us to stop contacting you

Just contact us and we will sort it out. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under your local law.

Children

This site is meant for adults placing food orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. We keep order information to the people who need it to cook and deliver your food. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send us anything sensitive, such as card numbers, through the order form.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date at the top.
