Questions
Good Chinese food in Spokane, answered
Pricing, payment, vegan options, delivery and how ordering works. If your question is not here, call or text 509-217-1898 and Mei will help.
Right here. Mei Makes Chinese Kitchen is a Spokane takeout and delivery kitchen serving hand cooked Chinese food at prices built for everyday eating, not special occasions. Most dishes run between $4 and $12, and a veggie fried rice or chow mein starts at just $4. Everything is cooked to order by a cook with ten years in a professional kitchen, so you are not trading quality for the price.
The menu is deliberately affordable. Potstickers are $5 for six or $8 for ten, fried rice and chow mein are $6 with meat or $4 with veggies, pork and white rice is $8, BBQ pork and fried rice is $12, and curry and white rice is $11. There is no delivery app markup, because you order straight from the kitchen rather than through a third party that adds fees on top.
All of them. Cash, all major credit and debit cards, and the common mobile and app payments people use day to day. Whatever is easiest for you works, and Mei will sort out payment when she confirms your order or when you pick it up.
Yes. The veggie fried rice and veggie chow mein are built around corn, sweet peas and carrots rather than meat, and can be prepared vegan, cooked with no meat, egg or animal based sauces. Just note vegan on your order and Mei will make it that way. Because everything is cooked fresh to order rather than pulled from a steam tray, it is easy for her to leave animal products out. If you have a strict plant based diet, say so on the order and she will confirm the details with you.
Every order is. Nothing sits under a heat lamp or waits in a warmer. That is the reason orders are scheduled a day ahead: it lets Mei shop and prep for exactly what has been ordered, then cook it the day you want it.
Mei works a full day in a school kitchen and cooks these orders around that schedule, and everything is made fresh rather than held. Ordering one day ahead means she can plan for your order and have it ready at its best. It is the trade for food that is genuinely made to order instead of sitting pre made.
Two ways. Fill out the form on the Make an Order page with what you want and the day you want it, or call or text 509-217-1898 and Mei will take it down herself. Either way she replies to confirm your total and a time before anything is cooked.
Yes, delivery runs across Spokane and Spokane Valley. If you are a bit further out, send the order anyway and Mei will let you know what she can do. Pickup is always available too.
Mei Makes is based in Spokane, Washington, and serves the greater Spokane area including Spokane Valley for both pickup and delivery.
Yes. Note any allergies on your order and Mei will work around them. She holds a current Washington State food worker card and spent ten years cooking in a school kitchen, where allergen awareness and avoiding cross contact are part of the daily routine. Because dishes are made to order, it is straightforward for her to leave an ingredient out.
Send your order through and Mei will confirm the total, including any delivery details, before you commit to anything. Ordering is free and nothing is charged until she has confirmed with you.
